Fire Escape StairsI live in a very lovely old fashioned flat with
Fire Escape Stairsgoing down the side of the building. It is a two bedroom flat and, because it is old, the rooms are so much larger than those in a modern property. I must say that I love living there because my flat also has the benefit of some really nice period features which I make great use of in terms of allowing them to dictate the style of my home. The other day I had been out with some friends for the afternoon and evening and when I arrived home I realised that I did not have my keys with me. At first I was filled with despair and then I realised that if I climbed the
Fire Escape StairsI might be able to get in through the kitchen window. Although it was a little scary climbing the fire escape stairs, I did manage to get in and breathed a huge sigh of relief to be back in my own home again. However, when I relayed the story to a friend over the telephone she told me that I was mad to leave my kitchen window open when somebody could get in so easily. As her words sank in, I realised how foolish I had been and resolved to be a lot more security conscious in the future.
